Attorney Nick Pouladian
Nick Pouladian is an experienced, client-focused defense attorney who brings passion, knowledge, and commitment to each case. He zealously advocates for and protects those who may have made a mistake or been wrongly accused from the overwhelming punitive power of the government.
Nick joined Peterson Legal in 2022, where he's excited to apply his education and experience to ensuring that his clients get representation that is tailored to their individual circumstances.
Nick is a graduate of the University of Minnesota --Twin Cities and Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Nick graduated law school summa cum laude and top 5 in his class. Rather than going to work at a big firm, Nick clerked for a Hennepin County District Court Judge on a person-crimes felony rotation, where he gained insight into how judges think and what they expect from the attorneys before them.
From 2018-2022, Nick worked at a local criminal defense non-profit, representing clients from diverse backgrounds, many of whom would have qualified for representation from the public defender. In that role, Nick handled all levels of charges, from serious felonies to petty misdemeanor traffic offenses. His cases involved substantial trial work and motion practice, including at the felony level. During his time there, Nick secured numerous "Not Guilty" verdicts on behalf of clients, and successfully litigated cases resulting in dismissal of charges, suppression of evidence, charge reduction, and beneficial plea agreements.
Nick is passionate about criminal defense. He understands how daunting it can be for an individual when a prosecutor trains the power of the state on that person, including accompanying threats of fines and jail time. In some cases, it makes sense to take the case to trial and put it before a jury; in others, a carefully crafted plea negotiation may be the best way for a client to resolve their case. Nick's job is to determine where each client is coming from and collaborate with them in order to determine which option is best to resolve their case. His goal is to be there every step of the way to ensure the best possible defense is put forth and that his clients are heard and supported throughout.
Nick lives in St. Paul with his wife, son, and two cats. For fun he watches sports, reads biographies, and explores national parks. He would almost always rather be in Yellowstone with his family.
